“My first grade son loves the Achiever Radio program. Lately at the dinner table he’s been singing ‘care if you dare’ with some sort of weird closing sound effect. It’s too cute.”

Suzie Robinson, Parent - Dallas, Texas

“The Achiever Radio program is amazing! I wasn’t sure it would work for my kindergarteners, but after a few weeks it has really come together and has been very engaging for my kids. I love it. I love to hear the kids giggle.”

Jill Chafin, Kindergarten Teacher- Farmers Branch, Texas

"Achiever Radio is very easy to use, and engages the kids tremendously.  Most of all, if you are like me - a counselor who want to give so much - but with limited amounts of time - this is the perfect solution!!!!"

Candice Paolino, Elementary Counselor, Loveland Primary, Loveland, Ohio

"I am using the Achiever McBeaver lessons on CD as the basis of my small group for counseling.  The lessons guide the group in skills such as responsibility, perseverance, setting goals, etc.  The students look forward to listening to the entertaining lessons with the catchy tune.  At the end of each counseling session, we go over the review questions that come with each lesson.  Achiever McBeaver reinforces the skills I want these students to work on."

Laura Lee Kinard, School Counselor, Bryceville Elementary, Bryceville, Florida

“Today at morning traffic duty I was touched by the words and enthusiasm of a very special student. This student is usually the one who takes seemingly forever to slowly gather his things and get out of the car. But today, as I opened his car door (and before he could even step out of the car) his voice rang out with excitement, 'has the radio show started yet?' He already had his backpack ready on his back and he hurried inside faster than I’ve ever seen him move since he began school more than four years ago. Wow, what a joy to see a spark in a child who rarely smiles.  Thank you, McBeaver, for you have brought joy to the students at Furneaux Elementary!"

Cheryl Britton, CFBISD Counselor Grades K-5

“The Achiever McBeaver Radio Program is a multifaceted approach to character education.  Students are not only learning about important character traits that will help them be successful learners and citizens, but they also get to have fun at the same time.  Our students look forward to Monday mornings when they get to hear about the latest trouble that Wonkers has stirred up and how Achiever and his friends find positive ways to learn from the mistakes that they have made.  One of the best aspects of the program, from a counselor’s point of view, is the fact that all of this happening on a college campus.  Students can hear how the character traits they are learning about can be applied to those of all ages and within the context of lifelong learning.  We’re about halfway through the shows and I’m sure hoping that Wonkers can learn a thing or two from the rest of the College Crew!”

Heather Tracy, School Counselor Jacobsville Elementary, Pasadena, Maryland

“The students love the Achiever Radio program.  Their favorite character is Pester.  They can’t wait to hear what crazy situation he will end up in next, and what he and the other characters will learn from it.  The program is such a valuable tool for teaching character virtues because the students are actively involved and therefore are able to retain the information.  We love it!”

Angel Reiter, Counselor, McCoy Elementary Carrollton, Texas

“I like the pictures in my mind."

H.A., First Grade Student, Dallas, Texas

“Our teacher types the answer to the contest question too slow. I’d like to win, so I think I’m going to ask if I can type it for her.”

A.F., Third Grade Student, Carrollton, Texas

"My students look forward to hearing Achiever McBeaver on Monday mornings.  They especially like the new word "zatabang."  Now they use this word all the time.  I'm not sure if this is a good thing because it is used to annoy someone on the radio show!"

MT, Kindergarten Teacher, Maryland

“The program is great!  Students look forward to listening to the episodes and most of all answering the questions.  I tied this series in with our Virtues program and it works well.”

Catherine Adams, Counselor, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands

“The Achiever Radio program reaches across grade levels extending character choices to students in real world situations.  It also supports the newest research supporting auditory learning stimulating the imagination.  It’s great!”

Allison Payne, Counselor Carrollton Elementary Carrollton, Texas

“Achiever McBeaver is a blast.  Kids love to listen to the zany characters as they stumble through life’s choices and work to make better decisions. My kids are always asking…when do we get to hear from the Beaver?”

Dawn Mason, Counselor Good Elementary, Carrollton, Texas

“I have used the High Achiever Guidance lessons with small groups and the kids really like them.  They find the lessons very interesting and energetic.  I have printed out color pictures of the characters and hold each one up as they talk during the recording.  The kids really get into discussing about how the characters want friends, but how their behaviors aren’t helping them get or keep friends at all.”

Karene Hudnall, Counselor Howe Elementary, Des Moines, Iowa

“I like the shows because I imagine that I'm with the characters."

Clayton V., Third Grade Student, Dallas, Texas

“Back in my day as a young girl, all we had was a radio and I remember how much I enjoyed listening in and following the stories. I couldn’t wait all day to find out what happened next! The nice thing about these fun radio spots is that the kids are active in the learning process using their creativity, analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and active listening skills. Because their own imaginations are involved in the learning, the kids remember the lessons better (and act upon the specific skills faster) than when doing a worksheet or even watching a video.”

Becky Hall, Retired Teacher and Instructional Facilitator K-5, Dallas, Texas

“My students get so incredibly excited about hearing the Achiever radio show every week. They immediately stop what they are doing and listen as soon as the show begins.  It is amazing to see their active engagement in the radio broadcasting!”

Monica Johns, 4th Grade Teacher, McCoy Elementary, Carrollton, Texas

“The students at Freeman Elementary School listen intently to our weekly Achiever Radio broadcasts on TNN (Tiger Network News). On days when we do not have the time to run Achiever Radio, students come up to me and ask ‘what happened to Achiever today?’  They miss the weekly lesson if it is not presented.  They not only listen, but have gotten involved in modeling what they have heard and learned as well.  We love Achiever McBeaver!”

Walter Peterson, Principal, Freeman Elementary, Irving, Texas

“Achiever Radio is incredible! I was covering a 4th grade class – and I couldn’t believe how focused the kids were on the radio show. What a great way to present these important values based messages.”

Susie Lopez, Office Staff, Janie Stark Elementary, Farmers Branch, Texas

“I am particularly impressed with the ‘listening skills’ the McBeaver program encourages.  Not having a cartoon or moving image on the screen requires the childen to become more focused on LISTENING AND LEARNING!

Nancy Watten, Retired Teacher and Current School Board Member CFBISD

"Unlike other character education programs, Achiever McBeaver has been created by classroom educators that know how to maximize the use of time and make lessons both effective and memorable. The Achiever character education program is a simple way to impact an entire campus with very little time investment. Achiever Radio is a wonderful stand alone character program - and makes the perfect supplement to any other character education programs being used on a campus.  It has been so much fun watching the kids giggle their way to better behavior!"

Dana Erwin LMSW, Communities in Schools Dallas Region Area Team Manager

“Our Pre-K-2nd grade students are amazingly attentive to the Achiever McBeaver episodes.  They can’t wait to tell me the answer to the weekly contest question.  The teachers are already noticing better manners, especially after the courtesy episodes.”

Janet Gudbjartsson, Counselor Sheffield Primary, Carrollton, Texas

“The kids absolutely LOVE Achiever Radio!  They look forward to Monday morning announcements to see what kind of trouble Pester has gotten into at Big Forest State College. It cracks them up!”

Erika Welch, Counselor Freeman Elementary, Irving, Texas

“Achiever McBeaver is very simple to use, time friendly, well put together, makes the kids laugh, and amazingly grabs student attention across all the elementary grade levels. The nice thing is that the program’s extreme ease of use makes it painless to get much needed school wide teacher support. Plus, Achiever Radio fits nicely into the other character education programs we use on campus. The kids and teachers love it!”

Abby McCone, Principal Janie Stark Elementary, Farmers Branch, Texas

“I think everyone’s favorite thing about Achiever McBeaver is the theme song.  That is what catches kids’ attention and ‘hooks’ them.  I have found that after several weeks of the program, the majority of our students are really focusing on listening carefully and then enjoy looking at the individual character’s picture afterward to put a ‘face’ with a ‘voice’.  The program is clever, catchy, and very appealing to elementary kids.”

Jamie Smith, M. Ed., LPC, Counselor Rainwater Elementary, Carrollton, Texas

“The kids have really become much better listeners and the weekly contest helps intensify their listening. After the show, all of the classes are so excited about emailing me the answer to the contest question!”

Sharon Tapp, Counselor Rosemeade Elementary, Carrollton, Texas

“As a 2nd grade teacher in a public school, I have found it difficult to find effective materials for my students for character development. The Achiever Radio shows are entertaining for students and teachers alike, but what I like most is that the kids are actually learning about good character and having fun at the same time. It's a win, win!”

Carmen Hankins, 2nd Grade Teacher, Lewisville, Texas

Our students at Landry Elementary from Kinder through 5th grade enjoy the weekly stories. We noticed how the stories stimulated the student's conversations concerning good character and had a motivating impact on inspiring them toward a college education.  Our students enjoy the characters in the stories and our teachers love the format that encourages good listening skills as well as good character. This is a great series!
